A song about Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson (January 21, 1824 – May 10, 1863).
Jackson was a Confederate general in the Army of North Virginia. Like his commanding general, Robert E Lee, Jackson freed his own slaves but elected to fight against the Union.
Jackson was fatally wounded by 'friendly' fire from his own troops at the battle of Chancellorsville.
